PSG Coach Enrique Admits Fortune Favoured Them in 4-2 Rout of Manchester City
Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has conceded that his side were fortunate to claim all three points against Manchester City, despite the French champions running out 4-2 winners to maintain their perfect start in the UEFA Champions League.
PSG dominated the opening 45 minutes at the Etihad Stadium, with Désiré Doué, Ousmane Dembélé, and Vitinha all finding the net to put the visitors 3-0 ahead. It was a near-flawless display from Enrique's men in a first half that left City shellshocked.
City's spirited fightback
Erling Haaland dragged City back into the contest with two goals after the interval, and the hosts also struck the woodwork twice and were denied by a stunning goalline clearance from Nuno Mendes — moments that could have swung the result.
Maghnes Akliouche added a fourth for PSG to briefly restore their three-goal cushion, though Ferran Torres squandered a late penalty that would have further secured the victory.
