PSG Land Ferran Torres From Barcelona in £42.7m Deal

Paris Saint-Germain have secured the signature of Ferran Torres from Barcelona for £42.7 million, bringing the FIFA World Cup 2026 final hero to the French capital.
Torres cemented his place in football history by netting the only goal of the World Cup final in extra-time, sending Spain past Argentina to claim the sport's greatest prize. The forward was among PSG's top transfer targets, and the club has now beaten off competition to land him alongside fellow attacking recruit Maghnes Akliouche.
The Spain international will wear the No 9 shirt at the Parc des Princes and has committed to the club on a deal running until 2031.
A decorated spell at Barcelona
In 207 appearances for Barcelona, Torres scored 65 goals — a return that included a strike in the Copa del Rey final victory over Real Madrid. During his time at the Catalan club, he lifted six major honours.
Barcelona eye Rodri as transfer funds grow
The sale of Torres is expected to bolster Barcelona's finances as they pursue Manchester City midfielder Rodri. City turned down a £55 million offer from Barcelona last week, but the Catalan club remain determined and are weighing their options as negotiations continue.
