Ranchers Bees have moved quickly to stabilise their struggling campaign, appointing Ma'aji Muhammad as technical adviser after dismissing Usman Abd'allah on Saturday.

Abd'allah's exit came after a difficult start to the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season. The Kaduna-based club collected just two wins, two draws, and five defeats in nine matches under his charge — a return that left them rooted to the lower end of the table.

Muhammad returns to the NPFL

Muhammad is no stranger to the league. He most recently led Niger Tornadoes before being replaced by Kabiru Dogo at the start of the current campaign, and he now takes on a new challenge at Ranchers Bees.

His primary task is clear: drag Ranchers Bees out of the relegation zone. The club currently occupy 19th place on the NPFL standings with eight points from nine outings — a precarious position that demands an immediate upturn in form.

Debut in Kano

Muhammad's first match in charge will come on Sunday, when Ranchers Bees host Doma United at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano. The new technical adviser will be eager to make an early statement and set the tone for what he hopes will be a turnaround in the club's fortunes.
