Rangers Eye Lens Striker Fofana as Celtic Close In on Mahmic

2 hours ago·2 min

Rangers are weighing up a loan move for Lens striker Rayan Fofana as the Scottish club seeks a short-term replacement for injured forward Youssef Chermiti. The 20-year-old Fofana has emerged as a candidate to fill the gap left by Chermiti's absence, according to the Scottish Sun.

The Ibrox club are also edging closer to a permanent deal for Girona winger Kim Min-Su. The 20-year-old South Korea international is set to trigger an £8.5m release clause, with a medical understood to be scheduled for Monday, as reported by the Daily Record.

Celtic close to two signings

Across the city, Celtic are in advanced talks to bring Slovan Liberec midfielder Ermin Mahmic to Parkhead. The 21-year-old Bosnia-Herzegovina international is valued at around £7m, with a further £1.5m in potential add-ons, per Sky Sports.

Mahmic, who caught the eye at the World Cup, has attracted interest from Schalke, Club Brugge, Union St-Gilloise, and Toulouse — yet the Daily Record reports that Celtic have moved to the front of the queue.

Celtic are also on the verge of securing a season-long loan for Chelsea left-back Landon Emenalo, with Sky Sports reporting a deal is close to being finalised.

Right-back search underway at Celtic

With Alistair Johnston sidelined for an extended period, Celtic are casting their net wide for right-back cover. The Scottish Sun reports that Southampton defender Yuki Sugawara has been flagged as an available option for the club.

Braga in no hurry to leave Hearts

Meanwhile, Hearts striker Claudio Braga has made clear he is not looking to force a departure from Tynecastle. Despite reported interest from Lyon and Trabzonspor, the 26-year-old told the Edinburgh Evening News he is in no rush to move on.
