Rangers Lay On Free Buses for Fans Ahead of Abia Warriors Oriental Derby

3 hours ago·1 min

Enugu Rangers have arranged free bus transportation for their supporters ahead of Sunday's high-stakes Oriental Derby against Abia Warriors in the EUROMATCH Nigerian Premier Football League.

The week 7 fixture is scheduled to be played at the Awka City Stadium — Rangers' adopted home ground — and the club's management confirmed on Saturday that buses will depart from Rangers Camp, Enugu, at 12pm to carry fans to Awka.

Three years without a win away from home

Rangers enter the match on a strong footing. The Flying Antelopes are unbeaten in their last three home encounters against Abia Warriors, winning all three — most recently with a 2-0 victory last October.

For Abia Warriors, the stakes could hardly be higher. A victory on Sunday would be their first league win away to their fiercest rivals in three years, and it would send a powerful message to everyone chasing the continental qualification places.

Table positions heading into the derby

Rangers sit at the summit of the EUROMATCH NPFL standings with 13 points from six games, while Abia Warriors find themselves in 10th place on eight points. The gap between the two clubs makes Sunday's fixture all the more charged — a win for either side carries enormous implications for the rest of the season.
