Arsenal are bracing for a potential transfer battle over goalkeeper David Raya, with Real Madrid emerging as a serious suitor for the Spaniard — and the Gunners may have limited time to secure his long-term future at the Emirates Stadium.
Real Madrid's succession plan
According to a report by Fichajes, Real Madrid have placed Raya at the top of their goalkeeping shortlist as they begin planning for life after Thibaut Courtois. The Belgian, who turns 35 next summer, is entering the final stretch of his deal at the Bernabeu, prompting Los Blancos to identify potential successors.
Alongside Raya, Portuguese keeper Diogo Costa and French youngster Guillaume Restes are also under consideration — but it is the Arsenal man who leads the three-man list.
Real Madrid's sporting directors are reportedly in no rush to push Courtois out, with the club expected to allow roughly two seasons to evaluate alternatives before committing to a major investment.
