Real Madrid Sign Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan in €20m Deal

Real Madrid have completed the signing of Netherlands right-back Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan, tying the defender to a four-year contract at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The Spanish giants are reported to have triggered Dumfries' release clause, valued at 20 million euros (£17.1m), though the club have not officially confirmed the transfer fee.
A proven winner arrives in Madrid
Dumfries, 30, brings an impressive winning record to the Spanish capital. During his time at Inter Milan — whom he joined from PSV in 2021 — he made 207 appearances, contributing 27 goals and 28 assists, and helped the Nerazzurri claim two Serie A titles and three Coppa Italia trophies.
At international level, the Netherlands full-back was part of the squad that reached the last 32 at this summer's World Cup.
Madrid's summer rebuild continues
Dumfries becomes Real Madrid's fourth summer arrival, following Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, and Ibrahima Konate. He is expected to provide competition for Trent Alexander-Arnold on the right flank.
The arrivals come after a trophyless campaign last season, which prompted club president Florentino Perez — fresh from a successful re-election — to pledge a significant overhaul of the squad's defensive depth. Real also brought back Jose Mourinho as manager for a second spell at the club.
