Former manager Harry Redknapp has made a tongue-in-cheek plea for the British Prime Minister to contact FIFA directly and overturn the two-match World Cup suspension handed to Jarell Quansah.

Quansah received the ban following a foul he committed against Mexico in the group stage last week, ruling him out of two upcoming England matches at the tournament.

Redknapp, speaking with characteristic wit, described the punishment as harsh and suggested — half-jokingly — that only the highest levels of political intervention could resolve the situation.
