Richarlison, 29, is understood to be exploring his options after a deadline day move to Everton fell through. Sources indicate the forward is eager to be released from the remainder of his deal, though Tottenham are not entertaining that possibility.

While the player's camp is pushing for an agreement that would allow Richarlison to leave Stamford Bridge on a free, Spurs have made clear they are unwilling to negotiate any kind of settlement. The dispute is understood to have escalated significantly in recent days.

Everton move collapses

Tottenham stood to receive £35 million from Everton for the Brazilian, but Richarlison could not agree personal terms with the Toffees, causing the transfer to break down on deadline day.

Following the collapse of that deal, Richarlison has been omitted from Tottenham's Premier League squad — leaving him without competitive football as the standoff drags on.

Vasco de Gama eye a return

Further complicating matters, Tottenham hold a 12-month option to extend Richarlison's contract through to the end of next season, giving the club additional leverage in the dispute.
