Benin head coach Gernot Rohr has spoken out against Argentina players for refusing to exchange jerseys with his squad during Lionel Messi's farewell international match in Buenos Aires.

The West African side made the trip to Argentina for a tribute fixture organised to honour Messi's extraordinary international career — a send-off that ended in a 3-0 defeat for Benin but was marked by a moment of history for everyone present.

A bitter memory behind the celebration

Rohr acknowledged the honour of being part of such an occasion, but he made clear his disappointment at how Argentina's players treated the visiting squad after the final whistle.
