Ronaldo Handed 30-Day Suspension and Fine After Portugal Walk-Out

Cristiano Ronaldo has received a 30-day suspension and a fine of under £250 from the Portuguese Football Federation's disciplinary council, following his decision to walk out of the Portugal national team camp during the September international window.
The Al-Nassr forward departed the squad in Copenhagen ahead of Portugal's UEFA Nations League fixture against Denmark — a move that came after a falling-out with Portugal head coach Jorge Jesus, who had previously managed Ronaldo in the Saudi Pro League.
The dispute with Jorge Jesus
Ronaldo accused Jesus of breaking two separate promises made to him. The breakdown in their relationship prompted the 41-year-old to leave the squad without authorisation on September 30.
Taking to Instagram in the aftermath, Ronaldo addressed the Portuguese FA directly, asking that no special leniency be extended to him on account of his status. He also published a bullet-pointed list of statements he had validated from a post-match Nations League press conference — statements which, he claimed, Jesus never actually read aloud.
