Super Eagles Hold Firm at 26th in Latest FIFA Rankings

Nigeria's Super Eagles have held their 26th-place ranking in the latest FIFA Men's World Rankings, published on Thursday, with their continental standing also unchanged.
Unity Cup results
Since the previous rankings update, Éric Chelle's side were active on four occasions. At the Unity Cup invitational tournament in London, the Super Eagles beat Zimbabwe's Warriors 2-0 before demolishing Jamaica's Reggae Boyz 3-0.
However, their form in subsequent friendly fixtures was inconsistent. They drew 2-2 with Poland in Warsaw, then fell to a 2-1 defeat against Portugal in Leiria on Wednesday night.
Third in Africa, 26th in the world
Despite the mixed run of results, the Super Eagles remain the third-highest-ranked side on the continent — sitting behind Morocco's Atlas Lions and Senegal's Teranga Lions. Algeria and Egypt complete Africa's top five in the rankings.
Globally, the top five positions are unchanged. Argentina, the reigning world champions, continue to lead the standings, followed by Spain, France, England, and Portugal.
The next edition of the FIFA Men's World Rankings is due for release on July 20.
