Super Eagles Slide to 30th in Latest FIFA Rankings
Nigeria's Super Eagles have tumbled four places in the latest FIFA men's world ranking, dropping from 26th to 30th globally, as announced by FIFA on Wednesday.
The fall extends beyond the global standings. Eric Chelle's side have also slipped from fourth to sixth on the African continent, now sitting behind Morocco, Egypt, Senegal, Algeria, and Côte d'Ivoire.
A mixed run of results
The ranking update reflects a turbulent recent stretch for Nigeria. The Super Eagles collected one win, one draw, and one defeat across their last three international fixtures.
They opened with a 2-1 home victory over Madagascar before suffering a heavy 3-0 defeat against Guinea-Bissau. Nigeria then closed out the period with a 3-3 draw against Russia in an international friendly on Tuesday night.
Spain remain at the summit
At the top of the global standings, world champions Spain retained first place, with Argentina, France, England, and Portugal rounding out the top five.
Brazil, Morocco, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Mexico completed the top ten.
The next FIFA men's world ranking update is scheduled for Wednesday, 18 November 2026.
