Nigeria's Super Eagles have landed in Bissau ahead of their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against Guinea-Bissau, set for Tuesday, September 29.

Media officer Peomise Efoghe confirmed the squad's arrival after the side touched down at Osvaldo Vieira International Airport on Sunday evening, having departed from Uyo earlier that day.

Head coach Eric Chelle leads the delegation into a Group L, matchday 2 encounter against the Djurtus at the Estadio 24 de Setembro. A positive result in Bissau would place Nigeria firmly at the summit of their qualifying group as they chase a place at the 2027 AFCON, to be hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

Strong start to build on

The Super Eagles head into the tie with confidence following a hard-fought opening victory on matchday 1. Nigeria fell behind against Madagascar in Uyo before fighting back to win 2-1, with debutants George Ilenikhena and Moses Usor each finding the net to seal the comeback.

That result laid the foundation for what Nigeria hope will be a smooth qualification campaign, and another three points on the road would go a long way to securing that ambition.
