Switzerland Swap White for Alpine Green at World Cup 2026

Switzerland arrived at the FIFA World Cup 2026 with a striking new look — ditching their traditional white away kit in favour of a neon green jersey inspired by the Swiss Alps.
In their Group B opener against Qatar, the Swiss took to the pitch in a pale grey base shirt overlaid with a vivid green graphic pattern. The design, revealed back in March, draws on the natural landscape of Switzerland, evoking topographical maps, glacial ice, and the rugged mountain terrain that defines the country.
A kit with deeper meaning
According to The Kitman, the abstract, almost crystalline pattern is a deliberate departure from the plain white strips Switzerland have worn for years. The pale grey base keeps the shirt light enough that it reads as close-to-white from a distance, but up close the neon green detailing gives it a bold, fresh identity rooted in Swiss national character.
Switzerland's classic red home shirt remains unchanged — and fans will see it back in action when the side face Bosnia and Herzegovina on Thursday, June 18, and again when they take on host nation Canada on June 24.
Despite that fixture being played on Canadian soil, Switzerland are designated as the home side for the match, meaning Canada will be required to change their strip for the occasion.
Switzerland are competing at a seventh consecutive major international tournament since missing out on Euro 2012. Their best World Cup result remains a quarter-final finish on home soil in 1956, a benchmark they are still chasing.
