Terry: Arsenal Are Two Signings Away From Premier League Dominance

2 hours ago·2 min

Chelsea icon John Terry believes Arsenal are on the verge of a prolonged period of Premier League dominance — needing only one or two more signings to cement themselves as the competition's dominant force for the next two to three years.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Terry expressed confidence that Arsenal, who ended a long wait by claiming the Premier League title last season ahead of Manchester City, have what it takes to retain their crown.

"I think Arsenal… it's theirs to lose for the next couple of years," Terry told talkSPORT. "I think they've got a really good squad of players."

The missing piece

Terry identified a consistent, high-scoring striker as the one element missing from Mikel Arteta's otherwise formidable squad. He pointed to Arsenal's inability to field an out-and-out forward capable of scoring 20 to 30 goals per season as the key gap between them and all-time Premier League greatness.

"Look at the top sides over the last 20 years in the Premier League, they've all had it. Arsenal haven't really got that," Terry added. "I think they're one or two signings away from dominating the Premier League for the next two or three years, unfortunately."

The former Chelsea captain's use of "unfortunately" reflects his loyalties, yet his assessment underlines just how far Arsenal have come under Arteta's leadership.

Transfer targets in the frame

Arsenal have been connected with several high-profile names as they look to strengthen their title-winning squad. Among those linked to the Emirates are Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers, Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, and Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez.

If Arteta can land the clinical striker his side currently lacks, Terry's prediction of sustained Premier League supremacy could prove to be well-founded.
