Manchester City midfielder Tijjani Reijnders is on the verge of leaving the club for Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah in a deal worth £52 million, according to reports.

City signed the Dutch international from AC Milan last summer for £46.5 million, but despite an encouraging start to his time at the Etihad, Reijnders found it difficult to impose himself consistently. He finished his debut season with seven goals from 47 appearances — a campaign that also turned out to be Pep Guardiola's final one in charge of the club.

Reijnders trained separately from the main squad on Thursday, a strong signal that his departure is imminent. Al-Qadsiah are now managed by Brendan Rodgers, who previously took charge of Liverpool, Celtic, and Leicester.

Midfield shake-up at the Etihad

The 28-year-old's likely exit forms part of a broader restructuring of City's midfield. The future of Rodri — named player of the tournament at the FIFA World Cup 2026 — remains uncertain, while the club have also been linked with Chelsea's Argentina international Enzo Fernandez.

Reijnders himself featured at the FIFA World Cup 2026 with the Netherlands, making three appearances in the group stage against Japan, Sweden, and Tunisia. He was left out of the squad for the last-32 tie against Morocco, a match the Dutch lost on penalties.
