Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Brazilian winger Savinho from Manchester City in a deal worth an initial £75 million, with up to £10 million more available in add-ons.

The 22-year-old has put pen to paper on a long-term contract at Spurs, reuniting him with manager Roberto de Zerbi, whose pursuit of the player stretched back more than a year after a failed bid in the previous summer window.

Savinho had chosen to stay at the Etihad Stadium following that first approach, but found his opportunities under Pep Guardiola heavily restricted last season — managing just seven Premier League starts across the entire campaign.

The Brazil international wasted no time expressing his enthusiasm. "It's taken a while but I'm very happy to be here," Savinho said. "It's a wonderful opportunity at a brilliant club with one of the best managers in the world."

"As soon as I spoke to the head coach I knew I had to come. He told me he wants to help me reach the highest level, and I believe we can do that together, as a team."

De Zerbi was equally effusive about his new arrival. "Savio is a player who brings energy, imagination and quality in wide positions. He has the courage to attack defenders and the ability to change a game with his creativity," the Spurs manager said.

A busy summer at Spurs

Savinho originally joined Manchester City from French club Troyes in a £30.8 million deal in 2024. During his time at City, he made 84 appearances, contributing seven goals and 16 assists.

His arrival at Spurs forms part of an extraordinary summer of recruitment. Mateus Fernandes from West Ham, Sandro Tonali from Newcastle, and Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton have also arrived, with that quartet alone costing a combined £312 million.

Spurs have further bolstered their squad by bringing in defenders Marcos Senesi and Andrew Robertson on free transfers, along with goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.

Omar Marmoush move also on the cards

The spending may not stop there. Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are in advanced discussions over the transfer of Egypt forward Omar Marmoush to north London, with sources close to the matter indicating there is a "good chance" the deal is finalised before the 1 September transfer deadline.
