Tottenham have completed the signing of Scotland captain Andy Robertson on a free transfer, with the left-back set to officially become a Spurs player on 1 July following the expiry of his Liverpool contract.

Robertson, 32, had already made clear he would leave Liverpool at the end of the season, but a potential January move to Tottenham fell through after Liverpool could not recall Kostas Tsimikas from his loan spell at Roma in time to replace him.

The deal was revived this summer, with Tottenham moving quickly to secure Robertson's signature ahead of his arrival under new manager Roberto de Zerbi — who guided the club to Premier League survival on the final day of the season with a win against Everton.
