Trabzonspor Move for Former Super Eagles Invitee Anthony Dennis

2 hours ago·1 min

Turkish Süper Lig side Trabzonspor have submitted a formal bid for Anthony Dennis, the 21-year-old Nigerian midfielder who has previously been invited to the Super Eagles national team setup.

Dennis currently plies his trade at Göztepe, who have placed an initial valuation of €7 million on the player following a string of impressive displays across two and a half seasons in the Süper Lig. Transfermarkt independently values him at €8 million.

Dennis's season in numbers

The midfielder made 31 league appearances for Göztepe during the 2025/26 Süper Lig campaign, chipping in with three goals. He joined the club in July 2023 and has steadily grown into one of their key figures in the centre of the park.

Trabzonspor in pole position

Trabzonspor are understood to be favourites to land Dennis's signature, with no concrete offers yet emerging from clubs outside Turkey. Prior to this move, Dennis had been linked with Villarreal, FSV Mainz 05, and Beşiktaş, though none of those clubs have tabled formal bids.

Formal negotiations between Trabzonspor and Göztepe are expected to commence within the coming days, with Trabzonspor manager Fatih Tekke said to be particularly keen on adding the Nigerian midfielder to his ranks. The club are prepared to push hard to get the deal over the line.

Dennis remains under contract with Göztepe until June 2027, giving the Istanbul-based club a firm negotiating position as talks edge closer.
