Trabzonspor Set €35 Million Price Tag on Nigerian Defender Nwaiwu

Turkish club Trabzonspor are ready to let Nigerian centre-back Chibuike Nwaiwu leave this summer — but only for a fee of at least €35 million, according to a report by Taka Gazete.
Nwaiwu arrived at Trabzonspor from Austrian side Wolfsberger AC in January, and wasted little time making an impression at Papara Park. The 22-year-old recorded three goals and one assist across 16 league appearances, while also contributing to the club's Turkish Cup triumph.
Fulham circle as Trabzonspor hold firm on valuation
Premier League side Fulham have been repeatedly linked with the defender, though it is unclear whether they are prepared to match Trabzonspor's asking price. Should Nwaiwu complete a move to Craven Cottage, he would be joining compatriots Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey, which could ease his transition to London.
Trabzonspor consider Nwaiwu a central figure in their squad, but club officials are reportedly open to sanctioning a sale if their valuation is met in full. The club are not expected to accept anything below their stated figure.
Kinteh eyed as potential replacement
Should Nwaiwu depart, Trabzonspor have a succession plan in place. The Turkish club have set their sights on Gambian defender Abubacarr Sedi Kinteh of Norwegian outfit Tromsø IL, with reports suggesting Trabzonspor are willing to offer €7 million to secure his services as a long-term solution at the heart of their defence.
