Lawrence Ukaegbu, assistant coach of Enyimba FC, has sent a bold message to the rest of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL): the People's Elephant are traveling to Katsina United on Friday with nothing less than a positive result in mind.

Speaking to Completesports.com, Ukaegbu was direct about the club's intentions. "We're going to Katsina United to play well by His grace, either we win or we pick a draw; losing the game is out of it," he said.

Back from the brink

The Aba-based club endured a turbulent start to the season, but a recent three-game unbeaten run has transformed their fortunes. The run culminated in a commanding 2-0 win over Plateau United at the weekend — a result that hauled Enyimba out of the relegation zone.

Ukaegbu was quick to acknowledge the role played by the club's faithful supporters during a difficult stretch. "I am really grateful to the Enyimba fans for the massive support the team has enjoyed during our difficult times in the league," he said.

"The players have also responded well by getting two victories and a draw to move the team away from the relegation zone," he added, pointing to a squad growing in confidence with each passing week.

Eyes on the climb

With momentum building and the threat of relegation receding, Enyimba will now look to back up Ukaegbu's confident words with another strong performance on the road. A positive result in Katsina would keep their upward march through the NPFL standings firmly on track.
