Vinícius Júnior Rescues Brazil With Late Equalizer Against Morocco
Brazil began their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign with a draw after Vinícius Júnior struck a fine equalizing goal against Morocco on Saturday at MetLife Stadium.
The Atlas Lions had held Brazil heading into the final stages of the match, threatening one of the tournament's opening upsets. Vinícius Júnior had other ideas, however, pulling his side level with a goal that spared the Seleção their first defeat of the competition.
The result means both Brazil and Morocco share a point each as they begin their World Cup journeys in the United States.
