Warri Wolves Back Themselves to Cause Upset at Enyimba

2 hours ago·1 min

Warri Wolves head coach Hassan Abdallah has declared his squad fully prepared for Sunday's Matchday Nine fixture against nine-time Nigeria Premier Football League champions Enyimba at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba.

Abdallah urged his players to bring discipline, organisation, and concentration to the contest, while insisting the Seasiders would arrive in Aba with belief, not caution.

"We respect our opponents, but we are going into the game with belief in our ability. The players understand what is required of them, and our focus is on putting in a good performance and getting a positive result. We will approach the match with the right mentality and give our best," Abdallah told the club's media.

Club captain Innocent Orukpe echoed his coach's optimism, saying the squad are motivated and have their eyes firmly fixed on the challenge that awaits them in Aba.

Orukpe highlighted the importance of consistency over the course of a long league season, reminding his teammates that sustained collective effort — not individual moments — would define their campaign.

"We are highly motivated and focused on the task ahead. We know the league is a marathon, and what matters is how consistently we perform as a team. We must remain disciplined, believe in ourselves and keep working together to achieve our objectives. We are optimistic about getting a positive result in Aba," he said.

Warri Wolves now face the test of converting that confidence into points on the road against one of the NPFL's most decorated clubs, on their own ground.
