West Ham have confirmed the departure of winger Crysencio Summerville, who has joined Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal in a deal worth up to £60 million.

The agreement — structured as £55 million upfront with a further £5 million in performance-related add-ons — was first reported by BBC Sport earlier this week. The 24-year-old Netherlands international has now made the move official.

Summerville spent two seasons at the London Stadium after arriving from Leeds United, making 56 appearances and scoring eight goals for the Hammers. He hit a particularly sharp run of form in January and February, finding the net in five consecutive matches.

Despite that individual brilliance, Summerville could not prevent West Ham from suffering relegation from the Premier League in May, marking a painful end to his time in east London.

World Cup impact

The winger had given his stock a further boost at the recent FIFA World Cup, appearing in four of the Netherlands' matches. He scored during the group stage against both Japan and Sweden, underlining his quality on the international stage.

A summer of big sales

The Summerville deal adds to a lucrative summer of outgoings for West Ham. Midfielder Mateus Fernandes had already left the club earlier in the transfer window, joining Tottenham Hotspur in a deal worth £85 million — a fee that dwarfs even this latest transaction.

The combined income from those two departures gives West Ham's board significant funds to reshape the squad as the club prepares for life outside the Premier League.
