West Ham United Join Fulham and Bayer Leverkusen in Chase for Chibuike Nwaiwu

West Ham United have entered the race to sign Trabzonspor defender Chibuike Nwaiwu, with a reported €30 million bid already rejected by the Turkish club.
Clubs battle for Nwaiwu
The 22-year-old centre-back arrived at Trabzonspor from Austrian side Wolfsberger AC in the January transfer window and made an immediate impression, scoring three goals and contributing one assist across 16 league appearances for Fatih Tekke's side.
Nwaiwu also played a key role in Trabzonspor's Turkish Cup triumph, further raising his profile across Europe.
Fulham were among the first clubs to pursue the Nigeria international, though Trabzonspor are reported to have turned down two separate offers from the London club. Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen have also been credited with interest in the former Enyimba defender.
Now West Ham United have thrown their name into the mix. According to Turkish outlet Taka Gazete, the Hammers had a €30 million offer rebuffed, with Trabzonspor holding firm and reportedly demanding €35 million before they will consider any sale.
Nwaiwu's performances in the Claret and Blues shirt — combining defensive solidity with an eye for goal — have made him one of the most sought-after centre-backs of the summer transfer window.
