Wolves Sack Rob Edwards Seven Months After Appointment

4 hours ago·1 min

Wolverhampton Wanderers have dismissed head coach Rob Edwards, just seven months after bringing him to Molineux, following the club's relegation from the Premier League.

Edwards, 43, arrived at the club in November to replace Vitor Pereira, but he was unable to steer Wolves clear of the drop — the club ended the season rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table.

Peixoto tipped to take over

Reports indicate that Portuguese coach Cesar Peixoto is set to succeed Edwards as head coach at Molineux.

Prior to joining Wolves, Edwards had managed Luton and Middlesbrough. His tenure at the West Midlands club proved brief and ultimately unsuccessful, ending with relegation to the Championship.
