Yohanna Marks Premier League Debut in Brighton's Emphatic 4-0 Rout of Aston Villa
Nigerian winger Zadok Yohanna made his Premier League debut on Sunday as Brighton & Hove Albion hammered Aston Villa 4-0 at the Amex Stadium, marking another step forward in the youngster's early life at the club.
Yohanna came off the bench with 12 minutes remaining, replacing Mats Wieffer, to cap a commanding afternoon for the Seagulls on home soil.
Brighton's dominant display
The hosts were in complete control throughout, with a Victor Lindelöf own goal and a strike from Maxim De Cuyper putting them firmly in charge. Jack Hinshelwood then sealed the emphatic win with a brace.
It was a performance that left Aston Villa with little to offer in response, as Brighton dictated the tempo from the first whistle to the last.
A growing role for Yohanna
Sunday's outing was Yohanna's second competitive appearance for manager Fabian Hürzeler's side since arriving at the club this summer. He had also featured as a late substitute in Brighton's UEFA Europa Conference League playoff first-leg clash with Tromsø the previous Thursday.
The Nigerian winger will now be eager to build on his early cameos and earn a greater share of playing time as he settles into life with the Seagulls. A further opportunity could come on Thursday, when Brighton host Tromsø in the second leg of their UEFA Europa Conference League playoff tie.
