قبل 3 أسابيع·2 min

Alhassan Yusuf and Igoh Ogbu have joined the Super Eagles' camp in London as Nigeria step up preparations for the Unity Cup invitational tournament.

The pair — midfielder Yusuf and centre-back Ogbu — arrived on Monday morning, swelling the squad's numbers to 19 players ahead of their semi-final against Zimbabwe.

More arrivals expected

A further batch of players is still due in camp, including captain Wilfred Ndidi, Bruno Onyemaechi, Samson Tijani, Ebenezer Akinsamiro, Akor Adams, Emmanuel Fernandez, and Raphael Onyedika.

The Super Eagles opened camp last Saturday with 14 players before Chibuike Nwaiwu, Francis Uzoho, and Rafiu Durosinmi added their names to the register on Sunday.

Training under way at Cray Valley

Nigeria are scheduled to hold another training session on Monday evening at Cray Valley FC, Middle Park Avenue, London, with the official session set to kick off at 4pm. The session forms part of the team's final preparations before Tuesday's tie with Zimbabwe.

Head coach Éric Chelle and goalkeeper Francis Uzoho were also due to face the media on Monday morning at Charlton Athletic Stadium, providing an early look ahead to the tournament opener.

Warriors test on Tuesday

The Super Eagles begin the defence of their Unity Cup title when they face Zimbabwe's Warriors on Tuesday at The Valley — the home ground of Sky Bet Championship side Charlton Athletic. Jamaica's Reggae Boys take on India in the second semi-final at the same venue on Wednesday, with the final scheduled for Saturday, 30 May.
