Swedish Allsvenskan side AIK have secured the services of Nigerian midfielder Oreoluwa Agbenla, signing the 18-year-old from Beyond Limits FA on a contract running until 31 December 2030.

AIK confirmed the deal on their official website, describing it as a transfer player agreement — structured as a senior team contract, though Agbenla will initially train and develop within the club's academy setup in Stockholm.

Recruitment chief full of praise for Agbenla

AIK Football recruitment manager Miika Takkula expressed his delight at landing the young Nigerian, outlining the qualities that convinced the club to move for him.

"Oreoluwa is a versatile 'box-to-box' type midfielder with good understanding of the game. He plays maturely, balancing offensive and defensive efforts, while also being adept at finishing inside the opponent's penalty area," Takkula said.

Takkula also highlighted Agbenla's ability to link play and keep possession, adding that the teenager catches the eye with his composure on the ball and his willingness to create chances for teammates.

"He is a player who likes to combo and create chances for his teammates. He is also very safe with the ball. AIK has scouted him since the beginning of 2025 and also saw him in the Gothia Cup when his club visited the tournament," Takkula added.

The signing caps a scouting process that began early this year, with Agbenla's performances at the prestigious Gothia Cup helping seal AIK's interest in the young midfielder.
