AC Monza have confirmed the loan signing of Nigerian midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro from Inter Milan, with an obligation to buy should certain conditions be met.

The Serie A club made the announcement on their official website, welcoming the 20-year-old as a new addition to their squad for the 2025-2026 season.

From Lagos to Serie A

Born in Lagos on November 25, 2004, Akinsanmiro began his footballing journey at Remo Stars FC before catching the attention of European clubs. In 2022, he represented Alex Transfiguration Academy at Italy's Viareggio Tournament, scoring three goals and announcing himself as a standout talent.

Inter Milan came calling in January 2023, signing Akinsanmiro for their Primavera side. He made 12 appearances in his debut season, registering three assists, before a breakthrough 2023-2024 campaign in which he scored six goals and contributed two assists across 28 matches in the league and the Primavera Coppa Italia.

A Serie A debut to remember

His performances earned him a first-team opportunity at Inter, and on February 25, 2024, Akinsanmiro made his Serie A debut against Lecce — going on to celebrate a league title with the Nerazzurri at the end of that season.

Seeking regular game time, he moved to Sampdoria on loan the following year, making 38 appearances across Serie B and the Coppa Italia, contributing one goal and one assist. He then joined Pisa on a temporary deal ahead of the current campaign, featuring in 25 matches across Serie A and the Coppa Italia before the move to Monza.

International recognition

Akinsanmiro has also earned his first cap for Nigeria, featuring in a friendly against Egypt on December 16, 2025 — a milestone that underlines the rapid rise of one of Nigerian football's most promising young midfielders.
