Premier League clubs have exactly one month remaining to complete their summer transfer business, with the window closing at 11pm on Tuesday, 1 September. Several sides still have significant work to do — both in recruiting and offloading — before Deadline Day arrives.

Arsenal

The champions have made two additions so far: winger Christos Tzolis for £34 million as a Leandro Trossard replacement, and goalkeeper Illan Meslier on a free transfer from Leeds as third-choice cover. But the bulk of Arsenal's ambitions remain unfulfilled.

Arsenal are targeting a left-winger and a central midfielder to build on their title triumph. Vinicius Junior, who is entering the final year of his contract at Real Madrid, has been explored alongside PSG's Bradley Barcola and Atletico Madrid's Julian Alvarez — the latter emerging after Arsenal refused to meet Aston Villa's asking price for Morgan Rogers.

However, Real Madrid are confident Vinicius will sign a new deal and he is not expected to depart this summer. Meanwhile, Bruno Guimaraes has told Newcastle he wants to join Arsenal, but Newcastle are unwilling to sell.

On the outgoing side, Gabriel Jesus — valued at £18 million to £20 million — and Gabriel Martinelli are entering the final years of their contracts, creating uncertainty. Ben White has attracted interest from Everton, though injuries to Jurrien Timber and William Saliba could limit Arsenal's willingness to move him on.

Saliba's back injury has prompted a search for defensive reinforcements. John Stones was considered but has since joined Inter, while a deal for Aston Villa's Ezri Konsa has stalled over valuation.

Aston Villa

Villa have sold Youri Tielemans and Morgan Rogers for a combined £152 million to satisfy UEFA's financial requirements, and have brought in Johan Manzambi, Joao Gomes, and Alejandro Garnacho ahead of their Champions League return. Yet further additions are needed.

Hull City are close to signing Leon Bailey, who has one year left on his contract, while Juventus remain interested in Emiliano Martinez despite a gap in valuation. Zion Suzuki features on Villa's goalkeeper shortlist as potential cover if Martinez departs.

Villa are also eyeing Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson, though a loan is not possible given Garnacho arrived on a temporary deal, and UEFA regulations complicate a permanent transfer. A temporary deal for Bayern Munich's Joao Palhinha has appeal, but Bayern want a permanent sale for the 31-year-old. Ollie Watkins' future is another matter to follow, with Fenerbahce among those credited with interest in the 30-year-old striker.

Bournemouth

Bournemouth hope to finalise the signing of Benfica centre-back Antonio Silva imminently, addressing a gap left by the exit of Marcos Senesi. Beyond that, head coach Marco Rose is not anticipating wholesale changes following the club's heavy investment in recent windows.

Replacing Alex Jimenez at right-back — after his loan move to Fiorentina — is a priority, with Adam Smith currently the only available option. Rose is also open to adding a No 6, a No 10, and potentially a winger, but is satisfied with his goalkeeping options and no longer needs to recruit in that area.

No major departures are expected, though Alex Scott continues to attract Premier League interest. Eli Junior Kroupi's foot injury has effectively ended any prospect of him leaving this summer.

Brentford

Finding a central midfielder has been Brentford's primary goal since January, and the departure of Jordan Henderson — who left for Chelsea on a free — has intensified that search. The Bees are set to sign Lens midfielder Mamadou Sangare for up to £41 million, a defensive anchor who can build play from deep.

Keith Andrews' side may look to add a more attack-minded midfielder later in the window, with left-back also an area under consideration. Kevin Schade has attracted Roma's interest, though a deal appears financially out of reach for the Serie A club. Ethan Pinnock could depart following the signing of centre-back Jannik Schuster, while Gustavo Nunes, Jayden Meghoma, and Yunus Emre Konak may head out on loan.

Brighton

Brighton are searching for a wide attacker and a No 9 to compensate for Danny Welbeck's exit to Chelsea, with cover for the injured Kaoru Mitoma also a priority. The club are also planning to deepen their midfield options for Fabian Hurzeler's European campaign, though Carlos Baleba remains central to their plans and is not for sale.

Stefanos Tzimas and Charalampos Kostoulas are both highly regarded but are yet to establish themselves in the Premier League, underlining the urgency to add a proven striker. Goalkeeper Carl Rushworth is set to complete a permanent move to Coventry, while defender Igor Julio does not feature in Hurzeler's plans and has drawn interest from Espanyol and other European clubs.
