Former Nigeria international Daniel Akpeyi has thrown his weight behind Stanley Nwabali, urging confidence that the goalkeeper will earn a recall to the Super Eagles following his return to club football with Chippa United.

Nwabali had spent roughly five months without competitive football before finalising his move back to the South African club. Akpeyi believes the reunion gives Nwabali the platform he needs to rebuild his match sharpness and remind selectors of his quality.

A return to form on the cards

Speaking to FARPost, Akpeyi was emphatic in his praise of Nwabali's record in a Nigeria shirt, describing him as a goalkeeper who has delivered consistently at the highest level for the Super Eagles.
