Saudi Pro League giants Al-Ittihad have lodged a formal bid of €10.5 million for Beşiktaş midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, Turkish outlet Milliyet reports. The offer carries the potential to climb to €12.5 million if certain performance-related conditions are met.

Beşiktaş are reviewing the proposal but have not yet reached a decision on the Nigeria international's future. The club are expected to seek the input of newly appointed head coach Vincenzo Italiano before committing to any course of action.

Italiano's verdict to shape Ndidi's fate

Italiano's assessment of the role Ndidi could play in his tactical setup for the coming season is likely to prove decisive. Should the new coach view the midfielder as central to his plans, Beşiktaş may well reject the Saudi approach.

Ndidi arrived at Beşiktaş from Leicester City last summer and made a strong impression in his debut season. The defensive midfielder featured in 31 Turkish Super Lig matches, contributing two goals and one assist across the campaign.
