Chelsea have turned down a third consecutive offer from Serie A side Como for defender Trevoh Chalobah, with the Blues holding firm on a valuation of £30 million plus a £5 million add-on, according to talkSPORT.

Como, managed by former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas, have been pursuing the 27-year-old throughout the summer window. In June, they submitted a bid exceeding £22 million, only to be rebuffed. Two further attempts have since met the same outcome, despite the two clubs entering advanced negotiations.

Lacroix arrival set to seal Chalobah's fate

Chalobah's exit from Stamford Bridge now appears increasingly inevitable as Chelsea close in on signing Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace in a deal worth in excess of £55 million. Lacroix's expected arrival would push Chalobah even further down the squad hierarchy under new manager Xabi Alonso.

Chelsea had already signalled a willingness to sell the defender, and the imminent addition of another central defender makes his departure all but certain. Chalobah signed a long-term contract in 2022 that runs for two more years, with an option for a further 12 months — yet the club appear prepared to move him on regardless.

World Cup debut caps impressive campaign

The timing is notable given the season Chalobah has delivered. He made 47 appearances across all competitions in a difficult 2025/26 campaign for Chelsea, establishing himself as one of the club's most dependable performers.

That consistency earned him a late call-up to England's squad for the FIFA World Cup 2026, where he replaced Tino Livramento — the Newcastle United full-back who was ruled out after sustaining a calf injury. Chalobah went on to make his tournament debut in dramatic fashion, featuring in England's remarkable 6-4 third-place play-off victory over France.

Whether that World Cup exposure boosts his market value enough to convince Como — or attract other suitors — as Chelsea seek their £35 million asking price remains to be seen.
