Alex Scott Rejects New Bournemouth Contract Amid Premier League Interest

6 hours ago·1 min

Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott has turned down a new contract offer from the club, with several Premier League heavyweights tracking the 22-year-old as his future at the Vitality Stadium grows increasingly uncertain.

The Cherries made securing Scott to fresh terms one of their top priorities heading into this summer, but negotiations have failed to produce an agreement as things stand.

Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham, Manchester City, and Chelsea are all reported to have registered interest in the England Under-21 international. BBC Sport revealed in June that Bournemouth had already rebuffed an approach from Arsenal for the midfielder.

Scott's path to Bournemouth

Scott arrived at Bournemouth from Bristol City in 2023 in a deal worth £25 million. He still has two years remaining on his current contract with the Premier League club, meaning Bournemouth retain control over his future for now.

International recognition

The midfielder's form has earned him recognition at international level. He received his first call-up to an England senior squad in November last year and was subsequently included in Thomas Tuchel's extended pre-World Cup training camp held in Florida. However, Scott is yet to earn a senior cap for England.
