Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has signalled that no player is ruled out for Friday's Premier League fixture against Brentford, with both Joao Pedro and Moises Caicedo pushing to be included in the matchday squad.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Alonso confirmed that the entire squad is in contention following a positive week of training, marking a significant boost ahead of the west London derby.

"In terms of injuries and the squad, we are having the last training session today," Alonso said. "Nobody is ruled out for Friday. We will wait until tomorrow to make the final decision."

Pedro edging closer to return

Alonso hinted strongly that forward Joao Pedro could feature against Brentford, subject to a final review at training. "We will see today if he's ready to play and we will make a decision," the Chelsea manager confirmed.

When asked whether Pedro was downbeat following his omission from the Brazil squad, Alonso dismissed any concern. "No, he has moved on from the summer, the World Cup," he said. "He has a great desire to have a great season. The summer is far away now."

Caicedo getting closer

Midfielder Moises Caicedo is also approaching fitness, with Alonso describing the Ecuador international as getting closer to full availability. A final call on his inclusion will be made after Thursday's training session.

On Reece James, Alonso clarified that the decision to leave the defender out of Tuesday's squad was a one-off call, and that his availability for Friday would be assessed the following day.

With the squad near full strength, Chelsea are well placed to build momentum as the Premier League season gathers pace.
