Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that Neymar's absence from the starting lineup in their 2-1 FIFA World Cup 2026 victory over Japan was a deliberate tactical choice — and that the star's potential introduction changed when the scores were level.
Speaking to host broadcasters after the final whistle, Ancelotti said he had initially planned to bring Neymar into the game between the 60th and 65th minute but shelved that idea once Brazil drew level.
