Anthony Dennis Seals Move to UAE's Al Jazira from Göztepe
Nigerian midfielder Anthony Dennis has completed a transfer to UAE Pro League club Al Jazira, departing Turkish side Göztepe after two and a half years.
Al Jazira announced the deal on their official X account, confirming Dennis as a registered resident player. "The wait is over! Officially: Al Jazira Club completes the signing of the young midfielder Anthony Dennis and registers him as a resident player," the club wrote.
From Abuja to the Turkish top flight
Dennis began his professional journey at HB Academy in Abuja before making the move to Göztepe in January 2023. He initially developed through the club's U-19 setup before earning his place in the senior squad.
He made his professional debut on January 27, 2024, in a 1-1 TFF First League draw against Çorum, and quickly became a reliable fixture in Göztepe's midfield.
The 22-year-old played a significant role in Göztepe's promotion to the Turkish Süper Lig for the 2024/25 season, earning a contract extension in May 2024 that kept him at the club until 2027.
Across 83 appearances in all competitions for Göz Göz, Dennis accumulated five goals and two assists — a return that underlined his value to the team during a defining period in their history.
A new chapter in the Gulf
The former Super Eagles invitee now turns his attention to the UAE Pro League, where he will look to build on the momentum he generated in Turkey and cement his place as a key figure at Al Jazira.
