Arokodare Snubs Trabzonspor as Top-Five League Move Remains Priority

2 hours ago·1 min

Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Tolu Arokodare has dismissed any prospect of joining Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor this summer, with the Nigeria international setting his sights on a move to one of Europe's top five leagues.

The 25-year-old is widely expected to leave Molineux after Wolves suffered relegation from the Premier League, and Trabzonspor have renewed a long-held interest in him by submitting a formal offer for his services.

According to Sky Sports, however, Arokodare has no desire to pursue a move to Turkey. His preference is a transfer to a club competing in one of Europe's premier divisions, and he appears determined to hold out for that.

Fiorentina bid rejected

Serie A outfit Fiorentina have also entered the picture, but their opening approach was swiftly turned away by Wolves. The Italian club proposed a loan arrangement, which the English side immediately rejected as it fell short of their asking price for the forward.

Arokodare remains under contract at Wolves until 2029, and the club hold an option to extend that agreement by a further 12 months — giving them considerable leverage in any transfer negotiations this window.
