Arsenal are on the verge of securing a new long-term contract for manager Mikel Arteta, with the club eager to keep him at the helm as they look to build on their Premier League title triumph.
Arteta's current deal — signed in September 2024 — is set to expire at the end of the season, making it a priority for Arsenal's hierarchy to tie down their title-winning manager before the window on negotiations narrows.
A formality in the making
According to Football Insider, via TeamTalk, Arsenal are preparing to announce a marquee deal for Arteta imminently. Talks between the two parties are advancing, and those close to the negotiations describe the new contract as a formality by all parties involved.
Transfer insider Graeme Bailey shed further light on the timeline, noting that Arsenal accelerated discussions over the summer. He revealed that an agreement is expected to be in place by the September international break, which begins on September 25.
