Arsenal have officially confirmed that Leandro Trossard is set to leave the Premier League champions for Turkish Super Lig side Beşiktaş in a permanent deal worth £17 million.
The club announced on Tuesday that an agreement had been reached, with Trossard — aged 31 — granted permission to travel to Istanbul to undergo a medical and complete the necessary formalities.
"We can confirm that we have reached an agreement with Beşiktaş for the permanent transfer of Leandro Trossard," Arsenal stated on their official website. "We will provide a further update once the transfer has been completed."
According to Sky Sports, the deal is structured as an initial fee of £15.3 million, with a further £1.7 million available in add-ons.
A cult hero bows out
Trossard joined Arsenal from Brighton in January 2023 for £27 million and went on to make 174 appearances over three and a half seasons, scoring 36 goals. He became one of manager Mikel Arteta's most dependable squad players, consistently delivering in high-pressure moments.
The Belgian international's most memorable contribution came on 10 May, when his goal against West Ham all but sealed Arsenal's Premier League title — a moment that will define his time at the club. During last season's title-winning campaign, he scored eight goals and registered 11 assists across 50 appearances in all competitions, as Arsenal also reached the UEFA Champions League final.
His impact went beyond volume: 17 of his 27 Premier League goals for the club either levelled the score or put Arsenal in front — a record bettered only by Bukayo Saka among teammates since Trossard's arrival. The Belgian had a habit of delivering precisely when it mattered most.
Left wing overhaul under way
The sale forms part of a broader restructuring of Arsenal's left flank. Gabriel Martinelli's contract is due to expire in the summer of 2027, meaning the club could enter next season with an entirely refreshed set of wide options.
Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers is understood to be Arsenal's priority target, while Paris Saint-Germain's Bradley Barcola has also emerged as a potential first-choice signing. Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis is another name on the club's shortlist, with his transfer expected to cost around £34 million — a figure that would set a new Belgian Pro League record.
