Arsenal Dismiss Coventry City 3-0 in Commanding Premier League Opener

59 minutes ago·1 min

Arsenal launched their title defence in emphatic fashion, brushing aside newly promoted Coventry City with a 3-0 victory at the Emirates Stadium in the opening fixture of the Premier League season.

Kai Havertz got the champions off to a flying start, breaking the deadlock before Bukayo Saka extended the advantage. Captain Martin Odegaard then put the result beyond doubt, wrapping up a dominant display for Mikel Arteta's side.

Coventry City, back in the top flight for the first time in decades, offered little resistance against an Arsenal outfit that showed their title-winning credentials from the very first whistle. The Sky Blues were simply overpowered on the occasion.

The comfortable win sends a statement of intent to Arsenal's rivals, who will be watching closely as the Gunners settle into yet another campaign with the ambition of going one step further in the title race.
