Arsenal are seeking a loan move for Ethan Nwaneri this summer, with the Premier League champions determined to hold on to the 19-year-old rather than allow a permanent departure.

The teenage attacker has attracted widespread interest from clubs across England and the continent during the current transfer window, fuelled in part by his omission from the matchday squad for Arsenal's Community Shield victory over Manchester City on Sunday.

Despite the attention, Arsenal's preference is clear — Nwaneri will leave temporarily if he leaves at all. The club recognises that, at this stage of his development, he would benefit from consistent senior football. However, with manager Mikel Arteta already boasting a wealth of attacking options, the opportunities for Nwaneri to accumulate meaningful minutes at Emirates Stadium this season appear limited.

A sale remains possible under the right conditions

While the default position is a loan, Arsenal are not entirely closed off to a permanent deal. Should a club submit an offer significantly beyond the Gunners' valuation of the midfielder, the club could be compelled to reconsider their stance.
