Arsenal have completed the signing of Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United in a deal worth £75 million, bringing one of the Premier League's most influential midfielders to Emirates Stadium.

The Brazil international, 28, has put pen to paper on a four-year contract with an option to extend by a further 12 months. His arrival follows a breakthrough in negotiations that prompted Guimaraes to leave Newcastle's pre-season training camp in La Manga, Spain, earlier this week.

Guimaraes, who served as Newcastle captain, made no secret of his desire to join the reigning Premier League champions. Yet he acknowledged the emotional weight of the decision.
