Season structure and key dates
The 2026/27 Premier League season gets underway on August 21 and concludes on Sunday May 30, 2027, with all ten final-day fixtures kicking off simultaneously — all broadcast live on Sky Sports. That finale falls one week before the 2027 UEFA Champions League final at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid on June 5.
Sky Sports will show a minimum of 215 live Premier League matches under its current four-year television rights deal, matching the volume broadcast in the 2025/26 season. The broadcaster retains first pick of fixtures each week and will continue to offer multiple 2pm kick-offs on a number of Sundays.
Promoted sides and relegation
Three newly-promoted clubs join the top flight for 2026/27. Frank Lampard's Coventry City won the Championship title, Ipswich Town secured automatic promotion as runners-up, and Hull City completed the lineup by defeating Middlesbrough in the Championship play-off final. West Ham, Burnley, and Wolves were all relegated from the Premier League at the end of 2025/26.
Transfer windows
The summer transfer window opened on June 15 and closes on September 1 at 11pm UK time. The winter window runs from January 1, 2027, to February 1, 2027, closing at 11pm UK time.
