Jackson the priority target

Sources confirm that Villa used the Rogers negotiations as an opportunity to gauge Chelsea's stance on both attacking players as Emery seeks to reshape his forward line.

Jackson is understood to be Villa's top priority. The Senegal international striker previously played under Emery at Villarreal, and the Villa manager remains a strong admirer of his qualities. Negotiations over Jackson are expected to intensify once the Rogers deal is formally concluded, with Villa confident that a move is achievable.

Garnacho back on the radar

Garnacho also came up during the same round of talks.
