1 hour ago·1 min

Madagascar's Barea and Guinea-Bissau's Djurtus are both preparing to name their squads for upcoming Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifying fixtures against Nigeria's Super Eagles.

Barea to include new faces

According to Malagasy outlet Midi Madagasikara, Barea head coach Corentin Martins is expected to hand call-ups to three uncapped players, with up to five players from the Malagasy League also in contention for places in the squad.

Madagascar will travel to Uyo for their Matchday One clash with the Super Eagles on Thursday, September 25.

Guinea-Bissau to unveil squad at the stadium

Guinea-Bissau's Djurtus are set to confirm their squad on Thursday, with head coach Emiliano Té scheduled to present the selection during a media event at the Estádio Nacional 24 de Setembro — the same venue where the Djurtus will host Nigeria in their Matchday Two encounter on Tuesday, September 29.

Chelle yet to reveal his hand

Nigeria head coach Éric Chelle has not yet announced his squad for either of the two qualifying matches. The Super Eagles faithful will be watching closely as the announcements from all three camps take shape ahead of what promises to be a demanding double-header for Nigeria.
