Brighton & Hove Albion inflicted a second consecutive defeat on Manchester City, claiming a hard-fought 1-0 victory at home in the Premier League on Saturday — a result that also avenged their earlier Carabao Cup loss to the same opponents.

The win underlines the growing threat Brighton pose to even the division's most powerful sides, as manager Fabian Hürzeler's side continue to find form at the right moment of the season.

For Manchester City, the defeat marks a troubling dip in form. Back-to-back losses in the Premier League will raise questions for manager Pep Guardiola's side, who had entered the match as the league's leading club.
