Boy Arrested After Bradley Lowery Taunt at Sunderland Match

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and released on bail after a video circulated on social media appearing to show a Coventry City supporter taunting Sunderland fans with an image of Bradley Lowery.
Bradley Lowery was a Sunderland supporter who died in 2017 at the age of 6 after being diagnosed with a rare form of childhood cancer. His courage and warmth won the hearts of football fans across the country.
The teenager handed himself in to West Midlands Police, who confirmed they had launched an investigation into the incident, which took place during Saturday's Premier League fixture between Coventry City and Sunderland.
Coventry City also confirmed they were conducting their own internal investigation into the footage. The club issued a statement stressing that offensive behaviour of any kind would not be tolerated, and that they would work with the relevant authorities to determine the appropriate course of action.
Gemma Lowery's emotional response
Bradley's mother, Gemma Lowery, responded with a heartfelt statement shared through the Bradley Lowery Foundation — the organisation she runs to raise funds and awareness for children battling cancer.
